Food Reviews – Suburban Square

Restaurant Name: Kilwins Ardmore

  • Rating: 5/5
  • Reasoning: If you’re EVER craving ice cream cakes or fudgy treats, Kilwins is one of the best places to satisfy your sweet tooth. When you visit, you’re greeted with the mouth-watering sights and smells of caramel apples, chocolate-covered pretzels, and towers of packaged goodies. Their ice cream comes in many traditional flavors, as well as more unique ones, such as Superman, Main Line Mud, and Cake Batter. I would highly recommend the Cake Batter flavor, just because the crumbles of chocolate cake with the creamy and sweet ice cream is delicious. Another favorite, Toasted Coconut, is also exemplary, with toasted coconut and chocolate bits. The fudge should not be skipped, either! You can take home select flavors in pint-sized cups, or buy ice cream cakes (with unique combinations of flavors and toppings!) This sweets shop is definitely something you should jot down on your bucket list, as this is an experience you cannot miss!

Restaurant Name: Not Your Average Joe’s

  • Rating: 5/5
  • Reasoning: Looking for a place to hang out with your family or friends? Not Your Average Joe’s is definitely not your average restaurant. Seating is abundant, and the two options of eating outdoors or indoors are both equally pleasing experiences. This restaurant serves classic dinners, such as pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and other entrees. The pretzels are a tasty way to start your meal, and there are a TON of options for you to choose from! Personally, I would absolutely recommend the chicken parmesan, as it is one of my favorite dishes. Make sure to try the pizza, too. The wide scale and variety of options here make it one of my favorite restaurants at Main Line.

Restaurant Name: Dan Dan

  • Rating: 3/5
  • Reasoning: Craving Asian cuisine while you’re in Suburban Square? Dan Dan is the place to go, with a variety of dumplings, noodles and other dishes. I would recommend the Lo Mein and chicken (try to avoid the pork). The garlic chicken is VERY bitter, so if you don’t like bitter foods, don’t eat it. The pork has a strange taste, to say the least. However, the noodles were quite delicious. One nice thing about the restaurant–if you have a nut allergy, you can tell them and they’ll mark the foods that have nuts. Although many of the dishes were below my expectations, there were a select few that were good. If you are a diehard fan of Asian food, you should try this out, as it’s one of the only Asian restaurants in Suburban Square.

Restaurant Name: Oath Pizza

  • Rating: 5/5
  • Reasoning: If you’re looking for some mouthwatering pizza, this is the place to go. Oath Pizza is home to a HUGE variety of delicious pizzas. When I got to the Ardmore location, there was both indoor and outdoor seating, and the latter was decorated with beautiful colored flowers. I made my own pizza with most of the meats, and this was absolutely delicious, with the melted cheese made to perfection. Aside from pizza, this location offers vegan treats and other goodies. If you’re an avid pizza lover, this should absolutely be on your radar!

Restaurant Name: HipCityVeg

  • Rating: 4/5
  • Reasoning: Suburban Square’s main restaurant for vegetarians, HipCityVeg is a restaurant that serves all of the traditional food, but without any meat! Food items such as burgers and chicken nuggets are made of non-meat ingredients, like tofu or soybeans.
